Sundays off at Urth Cafe

Just down One Santa Fe, the first Urth Cafe is hustling and bustlin' in the Arts District. I'm a sucker for tea and boba and this is one of the best places to try it! They also serve organic dishes that pair perfectly if you're visiting for lunch or dinner.

My favorite part about ordering their flatbreads is the tasty toppings they offer you, they're definitely worth seeking out. Each meal may look deceivingly small, but my stomach said otherwise. These meals are quite feeling, but leave you feeling satisfied after each meal.

Urth Cafe is located on S Hewitt Street a block away from the Arts District Flea Market that takes place every Monday - Sunday! Be sure to explore the Arts District and let us know if there's anything we should talk about!

Matteo: A Possible New Look

Yesterday I stopped by Matteo, across the street from Eat.Drink.Americano to take a look at their latest products, studio & to discuss possible new uniforms for the employees at the restaurant. Matteo is a brand focused on luxury fabrics constructing some of the world's finest bedding. Their neutral patterns and colors are perfect to match with any interior color palette and to go with our industrial vibe at Eat.Drink.Americano. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will have aprons designed for our employees by Matteo!

Matteo's fabrics are picked from the highest quality mills around the world. All Matteo bedding is sewn at at slower pace with more stitches per inch with quality inspection to ensure their products are top of the line.

Matthew Lenoci founded the company in 1996 and has opened 6 retail locations in southern California, a flagship store in New York, as well as a studio, workshop and showroom in Los Angeles.

Thursdays at the Arts District Farmers Market

Thursday dunch before heading out to the Farmers Market! I am a huge fan of our Poblano Chicken Salad with tasty chunks of chicken mixed with lettuce, house croutons and juicy mandarin oranges. Enjoy it with a mimosa and you have the perfect afternoon snack before wandering the Arts District Farmers Market every Thursday!

WHERE: Traction & Third Street, Los Angeles
WHEN: Thursday Nights, 5-9 PM
WHAT: Fresh fruit, vegetables, gourmet treats, prepared foods, organic food, local art & small business incubator.

The Arts District Farmers Market is a great place for the community to hang out, enjoy good food and learn about small businesses around the area. Local markets like this one is important to us at Eat.Drink.Americano because it provides an extension of our community to come together weekly and meet new people.

I was really drawn to the local artisans at the farmers market for their unique stones and hand made work. I've always admired people who can hand make things that are still good quality.

The man working at this necklace booth was kind enough to let me see his stash of stones and make a custom necklace since I wanted something a little shorter than the designs he had out.

I thought the leatherwork was amazing and I loved that everything else is made of copper wiring. Creative and simple accessories.

The rest of the market provided your typical fresh produce, gourmet delights and friendly atmosphere. ~ Good eats and seating, perfect evening hangout! ~

Hopefully I'll see you around at the Arts District Farmers Market!

Compelling & Rich Coffee Tasting at Americano

We're excited to announce that we now carry local coffee roaster Compelling & Rich Coffee! In honor of this new launch we will be having FREE coffee tasting at the restaurant Friday and Saturday while supplies lasts!

Join our Facebook invite! https://www.facebook.com/events/874877449206381/?context=create&source=49

Currently there are two seasonal roasts depending on your coffee preference. The light roast coffee is roasted for sweetness and clarity, whereas the dark roast is roasted to accentuate the taste without sacrificing cocoa notes. The sweet taste of Compelling & Rich Coffee is something sweeter in comparison to our other house coffee Stumptown Coffee.

Last week I decided to check out the Arts District Flea Market after eating lunch at Eat.Drink.Americano with some friends! Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday local vendors are open from 11 AM - 7 PM in the Arts District near Urth Caffe.

Stumptown Coffee @ Eat.Drink.Americano

Lately things have been picking up at Eat.Drink.Americano with summer progressing and the new construction of the One Sante Fe mall and apartments, however, I've been sipping on a lot of Stumptown Coffee at my visits to the restaurants to give me that extra daily boost! Eat.Drink.Americano serves cold brew Stumptown Coffee daily, you can drink it black or have it with cream and sugar! It's perfect pick-me-up drink to add to your dish.

Duane Sorenson, a passionate coffee connoisseur, who's driven Stumptown Coffee Roasters with quality always in mind. The first Stumptown Coffee shop opened in 1999, in Portland, OR. Since then Sorenson has been working hard traveling the world to find the best source for coffee beans, built relationships with coffee producers and built their business' direct trade program which helped him to acquire higher quality coffee.

Be sure to also check out Stumptown Coffee Roaster's downtown location at 806 S Santa Fe, Los Angeles, CA 90021, they're open daily from 7 AM - 7 PM daily! There's an alleyway for parking and indoor and outdoor seating. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays, Stumptown holds public tastings at this location at noon every week.

One of my favorite parts about visiting Stumptown Coffee Roasters is for their baristas' coffee art.

Be sure to stop by for iced Stumptown Coffee at the restaurant!
